Education and Experience

Education:

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1990 from Chico State with a double major in Business and Economics.  While earning my degree, I applied for and was selected to help the Downtown Paradise Business Association develop materials and events to promote the core business area along the Skyway through town.  This ignited my passion for community and infrastructure development.

In 1991, I enrolled in the Master’s Program in Rural and Town Planning at Chico State.  I had finished most of the program when the opportunity to move to Trinity County came in 1994.

Experience:

The reason I left the program at Chico State was to take a position with the Trinity County Planning Department.  While there, I served as lead planner on the Hayfork Community Plan and for the Weaverville Basin Circulation Study which led to funding for the East Connector/Lance Road project.

In 2000 I took a position with Caltrans District 2 in the District Office in Redding.  In 2002 I was promoted to supervisor of the Office of System Planning, with primary responsibility for planning for the future of the State and Federal transportation system in the seven northeast counties of California.  I retired from this position in 2020 during the Covid situation.
